In the Lok Sabha, Ramesh Bidhuri, a Member of Parliament (MP) from South Delhi representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), referred to Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) lawmaker Danish Ali as a “terrorist” during discussions on the success of Chandrayaan-3. Danish Ali represents Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha constituency in the Lok Sabha.
Following the remarks, Defence Minister and Deputy Leader of the Lok Sabha, Rajnath Singh, expressed regret for the comments made by Bidhuri. Singh stated that he had not heard the remarks and requested the Chair to delete them from the proceedings if they were offensive to opposition members. K Suresh, a Congress member who was presiding over the proceedings, confirmed that he had already directed officials to expunge the comments.
Rajnath Singh further expressed regret to the opposition if Bidhuri’s remarks had caused offense. His gesture of regret was acknowledged and appreciated by members who responded with applause.

On the previous day, the Lok Sabha had passed the women’s reservation bill with overwhelming support, receiving 454 votes in favor and two opposing votes. The bill proposes a 15-year reservation period for women and includes a one-third quota for women within the seats reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST).
