In a major development related to the politics of Chhattisgarh, the Hon’ble High Court has dismissed a petition filed by the Congress against former Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh alleging disproportionate assets. The double bench of the High Court termed the petition as “factless, baseless and politically motivated.” The court examined all the submitted election affidavits of Dr. Raman Singh, and no discrepancy was found by the Election Commission of India and the Income Tax Department.
The High Court noted that no allegations were made on the basis of the presented documents, and the petition was filed on the basis of baseless documents and assessment only. The court further stated that court procedures were misused, and prima facie there is no need for any official body to investigate this episode.
This decision has strengthened Dr. Raman Singh’s impeccable image and Bharatiya Janata Party’s anti-corruption campaign. The BJP workers have shown enthusiasm and faith in Dr. Raman Singh’s honesty, and the decision of the High Court has further strengthened their faith in him.
The Congress has been continuously attacking Dr. Raman Singh on this matter since the 2018 election results. With this decision, it has become clear that other allegations leveled against him by the Congress are also politically motivated and factless.
