The Chhattisgarh government has approved a total amount of Rs 203 crore for various development works in municipal corporations across the state. Among the projects to be undertaken are road widening, construction of flyovers, riverfront development, and the construction of an auditorium.
In Raipur, the Phool Chowk to Azad Chowk road will be widened and a flyover will also be constructed with a sanctioned amount of Rs 13 crores. Meanwhile, Bhilai’s Hospital Supela will be modernized with Rs 7 crores, and a BPO with state-of-the-art software and hardware facilities will be established for youth employment. Bhilai will also see the establishment of a world-class Central Library cum Reading Zone, and an Urban Women’s Livelihood Center with a capacity of 500 seats.
Bilaspur Municipal Corporation has been granted Rs 50 crore for various development works, including the infrastructure development of new areas with a sanctioned amount of Rs 21 crore. Bilaspur will also have an Urban Women’s Livelihood Center with a capacity of 750 seats.
In Durg, Rs 25 crore has been sanctioned for development works, including Rs 11 crore for the Shivnath Riverfront Development. Bhilai-Charoda, Jagdalpur, and Ambikapur Municipal Corporations have also been granted Rs 20 crore each for development works.
Raigarh, Rajnandgaon, Risali, and Korba will receive Rs 15 crore each for development works, with Rs 7 crores sanctioned for the construction and beautification of roads in the Municipal Corporation Raigarh city. Dhamtari, Chirmiri, and Birgaon Municipal Corporations have also been granted Rs 10 crore each for various development works.
The Chhattisgarh government’s approval of these development works is expected to provide a much-needed boost to the infrastructure and economy of these cities.
