In a significant operation, the Raipur Police apprehended a group of individuals engaged in the smuggling of ganja near the bus stoppage in Paragaon village, located under the jurisdiction of the Arang police station. The accused were caught red-handed with a substantial quantity of ganja, allegedly transported from the state of Orissa.
A total of 21 kilograms of ganja, divided into different packets, was seized from the possession of the accused. The vehicle used in the transportation of the illegal substance, bearing the registration number CG/07/MB/2167, was also confiscated by the authorities.
In response to this illicit activity, the Raipur Police swiftly initiated action by registering a case under Section 20B of the Narcotic Act. The case, identified as Crime Number 645/23, was formally lodged at the Police Station Mandir Hassaud.
