In the Naxal-affected Kanker district of Chhattisgarh, a successful encounter took place in the Aldand forests of Chhote Bethia. A joint team of District Police and BSF were on patrol and managed to engage with the Naxalites in the area, resulting in the reported injury of 4 to 5 Naxalites. Kanker Superintendent of Police, Shalabh Sinha, confirmed the encounter.
In a separate operation, the BSF and DRG jawans on patrol in the Mandanar forests of Amabeda area achieved a major breakthrough. The jawans apprehended two Naxalites carrying a prize of Rs 10 lakh and recovered a vast array of Naxal materials including walkie-talkies and tiffin bombs.
As part of the ongoing Naxalite eradication campaign in the district, the BSF and DRG team spotted two suspicious individuals in the jungles of Mandanar, Maspur, Kilenar, Tamora Bhumkipara in the Amabeda area and managed to apprehend them under siege. During interrogations, both Naxalites revealed that they were members of the Naxalite organization and provided valuable information about their operations. The arrested Naxalites were found in possession of Naxalite literature, leaflets, walkie-talkies, tiffin bombs, axes, and cash.
In addition, the BSF’s 135 V Corps jawans on patrol under Amabeda police station discovered a hidden cache of weapons, including a country-made pistol and 30 live cartridges, near Muttekhadka waterfall.
Last month, another successful encounter between the DRG jawans and Naxalites took place in the Useli and Gumjheer forests of the Amabeda area, resulting in the recovery of a large number of Naxal materials. The continuous efforts by the BSF and DRG jawans demonstrate their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the people of the Kanker district.
