The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has scored a significant victory by intercepting a courier dispatched by the Mahadev App from the UAE, intended to deliver a substantial amount of cash for the electioneering expenses of a political party. This operation, conducted in Chhattisgarh, has sent shockwaves through the state’s political landscape.
The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) initiated this operation based on credible intelligence suggesting that a substantial amount of cash was being transported within Chhattisgarh by the promoters of the Mahadev App, a digital platform, in connection with the upcoming Assembly elections.
As a response to this information, a search operation was launched in the afternoon of November 2.
The ED’s operation bore fruit when they successfully intercepted the courier at a hotel in Raipur and seized an impressive Rs 3.12 crore in cash from the courier’s vehicle. Additionally, an astonishing Rs 1.8 crore in cash was discovered at the courier’s hideout in Bhilai.
The investigation also uncovered the existence of several unnamed bank accounts associated with the Mahadev App, collectively holding around Rs 10 crore. This revelation raises questions about the financial operations of the digital platform and its potential connections to political entities.
Notably, there is suspicion regarding the involvement of some government servants in facilitating this latest cash delivery, adding another layer of intrigue to the ongoing investigation.
